1. Scope and who is responsible

This policy applies to the StylersIn website, mobile applications, support channels and other services that link to it. In this policy, “StylersIn”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the StylersIn service.

2. Information we collect

We collect information needed to operate the platform and deliver the features you choose to use. This may include:

• Account and profile information: your name, contact details, profile details and account credentials.
• Booking information: requested services, appointment time, location, pricing discussions and booking history.
• Messages and content: messages exchanged through StylersIn, ratings, reviews, portfolio content and support requests.
• Styler and shop information: service listings, availability, business details and information submitted for verification where required.
• Location information: your approximate or precise location when you enable location permissions or add a service location.
• Payment information: payment status and transaction details needed to support a booking. Payment-card information is handled by the payment provider used for the transaction.
• Device and usage information: device, browser, log and diagnostic information generated when you use our website or app.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to provide and improve StylersIn, including to:

• create and manage accounts, profiles, bookings and payments;
• match customers with stylers, shops and relevant services;
• enable messaging, appointment reminders and location-based features;
• verify stylers and shops, prevent fraud and keep the community safe;
• respond to support requests, enforce our terms and meet legal obligations; and
• analyse and improve the reliability, security and performance of our services.

Where required by law, we will seek consent before processing information for a specific purpose, such as direct marketing or certain location features. You may withdraw consent at any time, but this will not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

4. When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share it only as needed to run the service, including with:

• customers, stylers and shop owners involved in a booking, so they can arrange and provide the service;
• payment, hosting, communications, analytics and customer-support providers that process information on our behalf;
• professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or others where required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety and security; and
• a successor organisation in connection with a merger, acquisition or business transfer, subject to applicable law.

If information is transferred outside Nigeria, we will take steps required by applicable law to protect it.

5. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of or restriction on the processing of your personal information. You may also object to certain processing, withdraw consent, request portability where applicable, or ask for review of a solely automated decision that significantly affects you.

To make a request, email mail@stylersin.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

6. Security, retention and children

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please keep your account credentials confidential.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations.

If a feature is used by or for a minor, a parent or guardian should provide any consent required by applicable law. Please contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal information without appropriate authorisation.

We may update this policy when our service or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or ask for consent.
